De Grote Kamermuziekprijs

Ludwig van Beethoven String quartet no. 10, opus 74 ‘Harfen Quartett’
Leos Janácek Two movements from his string quartet ‘Intimate letters’

Each year chamber music ensembles from The Hague’s and Rotterdam‘s conservatories compete  for the Grote Kamermuziekprijs. On March 16th the prize has been awarded to the Babylon Quartet, an ensemble with four students from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. The string players will present themselves in the festival with a performance in De Vereeniging. An exclusive club that you only can join after a strict balloting procedure. The club is based in an impressive nineteenth century city monument close to Hotel Des Indes. A good opportunity to discover not only a great new chamber music ensemble, but a surprising historical venue as well.
